As the new President of crawfordconnect, Deborah connects nonprofit organizations with the executives, managers and fundraisers who drive success. 23 years in nonprofit management and consulting experience in fundraising has enabled Deborah to understand and act on the special challenges and requirements of nonprofits. She knows that selecting great staff is key for business success and understands that talented people who continue to develop skills and increase their value to the nonprofit sector are an organization's most important asset. Prior to crawfordconnect, Deborah held progressively senior positions in charities and in consulting in Canada and the United States. She has been a highly regarded fundraising professional, leading campaigns in health care, education and the social services sectors. She has directed a variety of complex capital campaigns, held various positions in Annual Giving, Major Gifts and has served as Executive Director of a healthcare Foundation. She has worked with a wide range of charities including a national charity attracting its first ever federal grants totaling $5 million. Deborah is an active volunteer in the philanthropic/voluntary sector and is a long standing member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Deborah is a graduate of the University of Guelph, has served as a Director on the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Toronto Chapter and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive.
